Original songs are still a rare sight in the choral landscape. For the most part, faithful reproduction of other composers' compositions are the sole focus, despite original songs offering a deeper connection to the topics and emotions that move the students. Over the course of three says, vocal band Unduzo will work with students of the Marie Curie Gymnasium Kirchzarten towards one goal: Premiering an original song on stage Friday night, as well as producing a finished audio recording.
The workshop was developed in cooperation with Schwäbischer Chorverband and was funded by Badischer Chorverband for the 1st Black Forest Voices Festival.
Vocal Band UNDUZO from Freiburg, Leipzig and Hamburg have been performing together since 2009. The band uses all facets of a cappella in pop music to bring their musical ideas and concepts into reality. Different vocal styles mingle with beatbox and live looping: This concept has won Unduzo many awards both nationally and internationally.
Unduzo are: Julian Knörzer, Richard Leisegang, Patrick Heil, Cornelius Mack and Julie Mbodjé
