This is the workshop for you! A “Circle Song,” made famous by Bobby McFerrin, is a form of group improvisation, where each singer can add their own ideas to create a tapestry of harmony and sound. FreePlay members Dylan and Suba will guide you through the creation of a circle song, teaching various vocal ideas such as melody, harmony, rhythmic variance, ostinato patterns, basslines and chord progressions, to create songs never sung before. You can then take these ideas home with you to create your own circle songs with your vocal groups.
