Songwriting - a practical introduction

Original Compositions are still a rarity in the a cappella and choral world. The repertoire often centres around covers and works of other composers with the intention to perform them as faithful to the original as possible. Yet original songs can be a powerful tool to increase identifcation with the ensemble and can be tailored to its vocal abilities. Through writing their own songs, both ensemble singers and leaders can unlock new creative possibilities.
We want to encourage participants to start creating their own repertoire and this workshop will provide guidance on how to get started !
