Respectful cooperation is important to us
Considerate behaviour
We want everyone at Black Forest Voices to treat each other with respect and take responsibility for others. We want to enable the exchange of different perspectives at eye level in an environment in which everyone can feel as comfortable and safe as possible. We respect individual boundaries. If you are not sure whether your behaviour is okay, we recommend asking too much rather than too little! It's about supporting each other and creating a space in which everyone can feel comfortable and no abuse or discriminatory behaviour is tolerated.
Our principles of awareness work:
1. consensus or consent: individual boundaries are respected: Only yes means yes! No always means no!
2. power of definition: where an assault begins is always determined by the person affected and they have the right to decide how to proceed after the incident.
3. partiality: Solidarity comes first. The perception of the person affected is not questioned.
Boundary violations are defined individually by those affected: Which incidents lead to people feeling attacked, disrespected, discriminated against, hurt, belittled or overwhelmed is not questioned. What is a harmless little thing for you can unfortunately lead to others losing their enjoyment of the party or event. In our case, this could be, for example
- Loss of control due to excessive drug/alcohol consumption
- Panic attacks when losing the group in large crowds
- Harassment/ harassment by others
Crew love is true love - Respectful cooperation
Ultimately, any of us can feel affected - even in our own working environment! If you notice any behaviour or interaction that you think is unacceptable, or if you feel uncomfortable, please contact the festival office.
Room of silence
This year, for the first time, we are setting up a ‘Room of Silence’ - a place for peace, reflection and meditation. It is a place where you can retreat to get away from the hustle and bustle of the festival and linger in silence. It is located in the ‘Himmelreich’ room in the Hotel Fortuna.
