Black Forest Voices 2021
Idea & orientation 2021
Festival period: June 17 - 20, 2021
Singing brings joy, singing together creates joyful sharing and a community!
This conviction meets the idea of local connectedness and global connections at Black Forest Voices (BFV) - creating a place, a platform of encounters, exchange and learning from each other:
In concerts and open stages, in workshops and coaching sessions, in a beautiful and inspiring atmosphere on the festival lawn with good, local food and drink, in talks and sing-alongs, local, national and international participants*, (fellow) singers, audiences, choirs, coaches, instructors, vocal ensembles and vocal bands of all performance and age levels, meet and exchange ideas, listen to each other and learn from each other.
The beauty and structures of the village of Kirchzarten and its surroundings are integrated. creates a unique atmosphere. The Festival's content and artistic offer radiates far beyond borders.
There will be a Black Forest Voices Festival 2021 - adapted to applicable hygiene and distance regulations, on and in front of stage - offline and on site on stages and in workshop rooms.
The live concerts will be integrated into high-level livestreams and the workshop instructors will repeat their workshops in Zoom for interested participants and 'try-ins' worldwide.
Positioning and reorientation, or: The best of web. and festival
The Black Forest Voices Festival 2021 offers - as in 2019 and 2020 - concerts and open stages, workshops and coaching sessions as well as the "Good Day & Afternoon!" program including smaller formats such as "Kirchzarten sings!", "Forest Talks" or "Local Stories": local as well as international musicians, artists, choirs, choirmasters, workshop participants and listeners, lecturers or vocal bands of all performance and age levels exchange ideas, learn from each other, listen to each other.
The BFV Festival 2021 positions itself - also in its third year - as a vocal festival rooted in Kirchzarten in the Dreisamtal and Black Forest: the concerts take place open air in the courtyard of the Talvogtei, in the St. Gallus church and on squares in the town center, the workshops and coaching sessions will take place in suitable venues of the municipality of Kirchzarten and other local cooperation partners, the "Good Day & Afternoon!" program formats (small concerts, talks, participatory activities, etc.) will be presented on and at the edge of the cozy "Get-together" festival lawn in front of the walls of the historic Talvogtei.
BFV 2021 is realigning itself: As with the BFV Web.stival, the same workshops, concerts, talks, coaching sessions and other formats will be made available via Zoom and streams at low cost, or free of charge to people who cannot be on site for travel restrictions, health, age or even financial reasons, or who would like to 'get a taste' of the event in an inexpensive way: The longing for and enjoyment of live, 'real' encounters, exchange, listening pleasures and interactive group experiences in workshops and concerts has become clear in recent months, so that the online-offer can be seen not as competition but as supplement to the 'offline'-offer.
