Uli Führe

Uli Führe, born in Lörrach in 1957, studied music, lives as a musician, course leader, composer and Alemannic cabaret artist in Buchenbach. Many publications, among others Muul uf, thanks to Hebel, Himmel us Stei,   D’Fledermuus, D’Staumacher; Ikarus, Himmel us Stei. Führe received the 2007 German Record Critics' Award for his dialect CD Ikarus based on texts by M.M. Jung, most recently he received the lever badge from the municipality of Hausen and the Alemannenring in Lörrach.

Héctor Urbón

Héctor Urbón was born in Buenos Aires. He studied piano, composition and orchestral conducting at the music schools in Buenos Aires and Munich as well as at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. In 1966 he was awarded the rice by the Richard Strauss Foundation of the City of Munich. In the 1970s, as a bandmaster, he worked on the theaters of St. Gallen, Freiburg i. Br. And Karlsruhe as well as General Music Director of the Schleswig Holstein State Theater. Guest engagements as an opera conductor have taken him to large, well-known venues such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Zurich Opera House, the Vienna State Opera and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, among others.

Theresa Dold

Song poet Theresa Dold, who grew up in a musical family in a secluded Black Forest mountain hut, moved to Hamburg in 2005 due to her music. There she completed the renowned "POPKURS" at the Hochschule für Musik & Theater, which is also considered Germany's most respected band smith, and studied popular music at the Hamburg School of Music. Numerous appearances in various band & musical formations as well as Solo artists make the music scene sit up and take notice. Three studio albums appear: 2008 "Somewhere in Between". 2011 the extraordinary audio travel diary "Unterwegs at home", which is based on Theresa Dold's seven-week walk through Germany. Most recently in 2016/17, the artist successfully toured Germany with her current album “Strandgut”. She recently moved back to the Black Forest with her daughter and partner.

Wilde Wälder

Even if the four high-black forests Georg Stelz, Christoph Hog, Tobias Schwab (music) and Karl Willmann limit themselves in the current variant of their program to the presentation of their favorite songs from all phases of their creative work, the themes from everyday forest life are clearly recognizable: wine, Woman, singing, good food, worrying about money and general well-being. The Wild Forests sing in several voices with guitars, percussion, glockenspiel and melodica about life and suffering in the Upper Black Forest, about slants and quirks of the peculiar residents - and with a lot of humor and truth.

Thomas Fuß

Thomas Fuß lives in Buchenbach and is 59 years old. He is married and has two grown daughters. Thomas Fuß is a pure hobby musician and has been singing and playing with and with the folk group Liederlich for many years. With great pleasure he has also been part of his brother's band Fuß & Friends.

Since the end of 2013 they have been traveling under the name "baff!": Maj Hansen (Lübeck), Lilly Ketelsen (Leipzig), Jonathan Mummert (Leipzig) and Maximilian Kleinert (Berlin). The four vocal artists now delight their audiences across Germany with their authentic charm and mainly bring their own songs to the stage. Due to the high importance of musical precision, the ensemble has already won several awards at well-known festivals, such as two gold diplomas at "Vokal Total" in Graz in 2019.

Do pop music differently in German - and without instruments. The five students rely on catchy melodies and smart lyrics paired with a wink and self-irony. Modern arrangements, extraordinary beatboxing skills and a stage show with sophisticated choreographies complete the picture of the boy group, which actually doesn't want to be one. The formation, originally from Heidelberg, has made a name for itself nationally from the local hero. The band played in the opening act for Revolverheld, old master Heinz Rudolph-Kunze or indie rocker Thees Uhlmann. At the invitation of the Goethe Institute, the band toured France and French-speaking Switzerland for several weeks as an ambassador for a young and lively Germany to mark the anniversary of the Élysée Treaty ...

Åkervinda

Åkervinda collects traditional Scandinavian folksongs and make new arrangements with intriguing harmonies and elements of improvisation where the voices bloom in the most delicate and fragile to the most raw and powerful depths of expression. The group have toured all over the world, won international prizes and are constantly praised by critics. In 2014 they released their debut album 'Kära Mor' and in spring 2018 came their second album ‘Förgänglighet’, which was nominated for the Swedish Grammis in 2019.

Acoustic Instinct is a Beatbox Duo from South West Germany. There isn’t a single sound Paul Brenning and Julian Knörzer can‘t imitate with their mouth and voice. Individual tone colours round out their vocal percussions of drum-sounds, instrumentals and everyday sounds. On stage, all of this brings about a fascinating mixture of human beatboxing, a cappella singing, play, comedy and the art of improvisation. Acoustic Instinct were originally founded as a trio in 2005, and have ever since been working with various artists, choirs and bands; local as well as foreign. Together with ‘Jazzchor Freiburg’ they have already toured Japan and South Korea three times. In 2007 they were awarded the ‘Zelt-Musik-Festival’ Prize and also won the 2007 Audience Award in an A Cappella Competition by Hypo Vereinsbank. The Duo stands out due to their sense for locality and allows the audience to become a part of their performance. By the joy of improvisation and spontaneity of the artists every show becomes a unique listening experience of the highest quality. Jazzchor der Uni Bonn

Since its founding 25 years ago, the „Jazzchor der Uni Bonn“ (Jazz Choir of the University of Bonn) has established itself as a veritable constant in and around Bonn. Over the last few years, the choir has made a name for itself on a national and international scale: Last year, it placed first in the choir competition at the Aarhus Vocal Festival in Denmark. Jan-Hendrik Herrmann, who directs the choir since 2012, has shaped the sound of the choir significantly by constant creative input, voice training and custom-tailored arrangements. Besides jazz, the choir explores many different genres and brings a unique choir sound to the stage with the joy of 54 enthusiastic singers, which invites the audience to go on an emotional journey.

Gabriel Hahn

Gabriel Amadeus Hahn is a qualified jazz drummer with a master's degree in composing / arranging (University of Music in Munich and Dresden). In addition, he worked as a percussionist, body percussionist, beat boxer and singer, on stage with well-known German acts such as Blumentopf, Roger Cicero, Howard Carpendale and Max Mutzke. Since 2009 international appearances with The New York Voices, participation in the recently released album Reminiscing in Tempo. Since 2017 singer of the program modern tales of the A Cappella collective Brussels Vocal Project.

Sjaella

Homogenous, yet personal; airy, yet forceful; precise, yet freely - these seeming contradictions might give you an idea of the multi-faceted sound of Sjaella. The 6 singers, having travelled their shared musical road for several years already, still continue to discover new twists, turns and forks in it. They are curious towards new sounds, love the diversity of music and have the courage of extending the boundaries they encounter. Accordingly, their repertoire is broad, drawing from many and diverse genres. This flexibility and the close relationship they build with their audiences have earned Sjaella engagements at major music festivals nationally and internationally as well as appearances on radio and TV broadcasts for some years now, and won them awards at international vocal music competitions.

Solala

In 2012, three friends met up in a kitchen one night. A few hours later they had made their first arrangement and with that, started a new genre in swedish vocal music. They've been described as a "vocal power trio" and with a unique idiom an and a repertoire that's diverse to say the least, Solala has rewritten the book on how a vocal group can sound like. Their music videos from the kitchen has attracted a huge audience through social media and Solala have for the past years brought the kitchen table with them as a live performance act and has become Swedens biggest vocal act. They have released three studio albums, published a book, made collaborations with many of Swedens biggest artists and toured all over the world.

The Beatbox Collective

The Beatbox Collective, Individually they have won almost every beatbox competition on the planet. Together, this vocal supergroup creates a wall of sound that simply has to be seen to be believed. Rajaton

Founded in Helsinki in 1997, Rajaton consists of Essi Wuorela (soprano), Virpi Moskari (soprano), Soila Sariola (alto), Jussi Chydenius (bass), Hannu Lepola (tenor), and Ahti Paunu (baritone). The singers have vastly different musical backgrounds from each other, ranging from classical to folk, pop and rock. After several extensive tours, Rajaton has gained recognition and earned rave reviews across Europe. In recent years, the group has also made headways into the North American and Asian markets, with concerts in Canada, the U.S. and Korea among others. In their native Finland, Rajaton are a bona fide pop phenomenon. In 2003, the group rose to no. 2 on the charts with their album Joulu ("Christmas"), a double-platinum-selling holiday collection featuring both original compositions and innovative versions of seasonal standards. In 2006, the album Rajaton sings ABBA with Lahti Symphony Orchestra topped the charts in Finland and sold platinum in a month. The group's latest release Rajaton sings Queen with Lahti Symphony Orchestra (2008) is a long-awaited follow-up to the ABBA album. Rajaton has received one double platinum, two platinum and six gold records in Finland, and their albums have sold nearly 300.000 copies worldwide.

Kevin Fox (Moderation)

A Toronto native now based in London, Kevin Fox is a recognized voice in the world of contemporary a cappella. He is known internationally for his work as a choral director, coach, adjudicator, and arranger. From 2007 to 2019 he was the baritone/vocal percussionist for the Grammy-winning group The Swingles. Since 2013 he has served as Artistic Director of the Israeli pop choir Vocalocity. Other recent credits include: Music Director on the British television show Sing: Ultimate A Cappella (2017); atelier leader at Europa Cantat in Tallinn (2018); teacher at Vocalmente in Fossano (2019); and workshop leader with the Guildhall School of Music and National Youth Choir of Great Britain (2020). Kevin has adjudicated at numerous festivals worldwide including the ICCAs (USA), Rocky Mountain Festival (Canada) and The Voice Festival UK. A sought-after workshop leader, Kevin has a passion for helping singers and ensembles to unlock their creative music-making potential.

Biography Morten Kjaer

Morten Kjær is a Danish singer, songwriter, producer, and music educator. He is a former member of the internationally acclaimed a cappella groups Vocal Line (DK), Basix (DK) and M-Pact (US) and a well-known arranger, educator, and competition judge on the European vocal scene. Morten records and tours both solo and with his Hollywood-based soulful pop trio, Ebb & Flow, and has been involved in numerous theatre projects in Denmark and the US. In 2017, he was nominated as "Entertainer of the Year" by CPH Culture in his home country. He also does cartoon dubbing and is about to return to school, studying Specialized Journalism. www.mortenkjaer.dk

Biography Jan-Hendrik Hermann

Jan-Hendrik Herrmann (* 1985), born and raised in Detmold, studied school music and Latin percussion at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. He is a baritone and beat boxer of the a cappella band "Soundescape", with whom he won prizes at national and international a cappella festivals and competitions. As a choir director, vocal coach and vocal coach, he is on the road nationwide for workshops, coaching and training and has worked among other things with the Bonn Jazz Choir and the Cologne a cappella group "basta". Since 2018 he has been the musical advisor and coach of the WDR broadcast "The Best Choir in the West". With the jazz choir of the University of Bonn, he won a first prize as well as a special prize at the German Choir Competition in the category "Popular Music - a cappella" in 2018. The first place at the Aarhus Vocal Festival followed in 2019. His choir arrangements have been published by Schott, Carus, Bosse and Ferrimontana publishers and are among others sung by Pop-Up, Bonner Jazzchor, VoicesInTime and the WDR Rundfunkchor.

Biography Martin Seiler

Martin Seiler is the “missing link” between choirs, a-capella groups and technicians. He studied audio engineering and worked as a sound engineer at radio stations while always singing in a-cappella groups (SixPäck, Cash-n-go). In 2011, he founded the German choir “Greg is back” as a conductor and arranger. With this choir, he twice won the Bavarian choir competition (“Bayerischer Chorwettbewerb”), and twice the second prize at the German choir competition (“Deutscher Chorwettbewerb”). In his work for Greg is back, Martin Seiler writes nearly all the arrangements and produces every single one with teaching tracks for all voices.

Biography Stephanie Neigel

The all-rounder studied jazz singing in Mannheim, Berlin and Weimar and perfected her skills with well-known musicians such as Jeff Cascaro, Sheila Jordan, Esperanza Spalding and the New York Voices. She is not only on stage as a solo artist with 3 solo albums released, but also with various bands such as the very successful female a-cappella quartet "Les Brünettes". In the past few years she has played several tours of Germany with her bands, produced albums herself and worked with music greats such as Al Jarreau, Edo Zanki, Tanita Tikaram and Dennis Mackrel or the HR Bigband, played studio concerts for SWR, HR, MDR and SR. She is a sought-after vocal coach at home and abroad and has a teaching position at the Freiburg University of Music.

Biography Tine Fris-Ronsfeld & Kristoffer Fynbo Thorning

Tine Fris-Ronfeld is a Danish singer well-known throughout the choir and vocal music scene for her work as a singer, composer and arranger for the award-winning experimental vocal group “Postyr” and for her work as a singer, arranger and co-conductor of the renowned pop choir “Vocal Line”, with whom she won the 1st. Prize of The Eurovision Choir of the Year 2019. Furthermore, Tine is the conductor of the Danish pop choir “Lyt”, co-conductor of the National Danish Youth Choir “Syng Selected”, co-author of the books ”Icebreakers – A practical Approach to Group Dynamics” and “Breaking the Ice – a Playful Approach to Social Interaction”, founder of a music and dance school for talented kids in the rural area, where she grew up and project leader and vice chairwoman of Aarhus Vocal Festival. Tine is a graduate of The Royal Academy of Music in Denmark, and she has almost 20 years of experience teaching solo singers, choirs and vocal groups in singing, stage performance and icebreakers all around the world.

Kristoffer Fynbo Thorning is a professional singer, beat boxer and technology enthusiast. He made his debut as a soloist in Vocal Management from the Royal Academy of Music, specializing in electronic voices in 2015. He has toured and taught workshops throughout Europe, Taiwan and the United States and has co-written the books ”Icebreakers – A practical Approach to Group Dynamics” and “Breaking the Ice – a Playful Approach to Social Interaction”, which are published in Danish, German, English, and soon also in Chinese. The focal point of Kristoffer’s approach to group dynamics is energy, interaction and humor. As a former singer of Vocal Line, his works in Aarhus Vocal Festival’s board and through Postyr’s concert and workshop company is well known on the international choral and vocal music schene for its pioneering approach to “e- cappella music” (electronic a cappella) his songwriting and his riveting icebreakers.

Biography Claudia Burghard

Claudia Burghard is a german jazz musician - especially a singer, choir conductor and educator. She teaches at the University of music, theatre and media in Hannover as well as at the Bundesakademie for cultural education for choir leading, conducting, vocal jazz and improvising. The award-winning university choir „Vivid Voices“ is under her passionate leadership for 10 years. Choir tours and traveling around the globe leave their marks in her musical experience. She also performs as a solo singer and in her ensemble projects like Vocality or Stimmorchester Hannover. Changing the perspective is one of her favorite things - for that she still joins a classical choir.

Biography Merel Martens

Merel Martens is a fulltime choir leader, arranger, teacher and coach. In May 2015 she received a Master’s degree in ‘Vocal Leadership’ from the Royal Academy of Music (DK), studying with Jim Daus Hjernoe, with the highest possible honors. She is also influenced by colleagues such as Peder Karlsson (ex-Real Group) and Roger Treece (co-writer Vocabularies - Bobby McFerrin). Merel’s name is connected to the award winning vocal groups “Pitch Control”, “MAZE” and “VOÏSZ Vocal Projects” in the Netherlands. In addition, she has been coaching “The Junction”(NL), “Perpetuum Jazzile”(SI), “Vocalocity”(IL) and “The Keystones”(FR). In September 2014 Merel founded the “Dutch Organic Choir”: a group based on rotated leadership and style-free original, partly improvised vocal music. Since November 2015, Merel has initiated ‘Vocal Leadership’ at two Dutch conservatories, educating choir leaders during courses and a master's degree in this fairly new discipline. Biography Peder Karlsson

Peder Karlsson studied classical composition, arranging and guitar at The Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, Sweden, from 1984, and graduated in 1989 with a post-graduate Diploma in vocal group performance. As a member of the Swedish a cappella group The Real Group between 1984-2010, Peder made over 2000 concerts all over the world and 16 CDs.

Biography Kim Nazarian

Kim Nazarian has been harmonizing with the New York Voices for 30 years. In 2012 she was recognized as one of the top 50 most influential Armenian artists. Along with the many recordings Kim has made with NYV, professional highlights include a collaboration with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra and the Manchester Craftman’s Guild and being a featured vocalist on Bobby McFerrin’s “VOCAbuLarieS”. Kim is also the lead vocalist for the Latin influenced band El Eco, led by drummer, Guillermo Nohejowitz. Their latest CD, "Puerto de Buenos Aires" (Zoho Records) just earned "Album of the Year" by JAZZIZ's Mark Holston. She also released her own solo CD in Oct. of 2015, called "Some Morning" which was met with critical acclaim.

Biography Maximilian Stössel

Maximilian Stössel is a choir director, singer, educator & cultural manager. After graduating as a state-certified choir and ensemble director, she studied school music, vocal pedagogy and educational science as a scholarship holder. As a lecturer in concert pedagogy, choir pedagogy, conducting & music theory, he regularly gives workshops and lectures at specialist events such as chor.com or chor@berlin. As a music teacher, he works scientifically and practically in the field of choral music social work with a particular interest in educational justice, peer-to-peer learning, self-efficacy and self-confidence promotion, currently among others. in the research and practice project "EMSA - a music school for everyone" and in 2015/2016 in the ARD education project "the Vivaldi experiment". He has been a board member of the German Choir Youth since 2016 and a member of the Advisory Board of the Federal Youth Choir since 2018.

Biography Essi Wuorela

Soprano Essi Wuorela has been a member of the internationally renowned vocal ensemble, Rajaton for the past 22 years. This six voice a cappella vocal group has toured extensively, visiting festivals and concert halls all over the world. The group has recorded 20 albums to date to great acclaim on the world stage. In addition to their acapella repertoire, Rajaton have enjoyed collaborations with major symphony orchestras worldwide with their Abba, Queen and Beatles programs. As a solo artist, Essi is a member of the EVA trio, Finnish folk-fusion ensemble (voice, cello and kantele) who released first cd “Ensimmäiset seikkailut 2012, special EP, “Ilta” in January 2018 and full cd “Hauras jää” Mars 2020. Essi began her singing career in 1994 with a solo-cd that was widely acclaimed and sold gold in Finland in its first year. Following this strong debut, she worked as a solo artist for 3 years, touring Finland, performing in a several television music programs and galas. She hosted two television programs, and worked as a freelance musician for various recording projects including collaborations with Heikki Sarmanto and the Tapiola Chamber orchestra, Oulu Symphony orchestra, Lahti Symphony orchestra, Helsinki City Symphony orchestra, Proton String Quartet and several pop & rock bands, singing background vocals for many albums. In 1999, Ms. Wuorela graduated from the Pop&Jazz Conservatory, Helsinki, Finland as a certified music teacher. Today, she maintains a small private voice studio and works as a clinician for voice and choir workshops internationally in addition to her performance schedule.

Biography Lukas Teske

Lukas Teske was born in Halle an der Saale in 1980, grew up in Berlin and graduated there in 1999 from the musically oriented Georg-Friedrich Händel-Gymnasium. He began singing at the age of 8, but only came to choral music because of his inability to convince with the clarinet in the school orchestra. Many a cappella formations followed and until 2007 he studied jazz singing and vocal pedagogy at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin. Since school he has sung in a variety of choirs and vocal ensembles, among others. in the Federal Jazz Orchestra (BuJazzO) and the a cappella band muSix. Today Lukas Teske is a lecturer for beatbox workshops and music producer (HighFive, Anders, DeltaQ, OnAir, zwo3wir, Unduzo, Maybebop), but especially since 2002 live with the a cappella band Maybebop. Since 2012, he and Felix Powroslo have been organizing the Berlin vocal festival BERvokal, which promotes singing and the voice in general, six ensembles in particular and concerts.
