The Kirchzartener A-Cappella-Festival Black Forest Voices (BFV) will take place online this year due to the corona: From Thursday, 18th to Sunday, 21st June 2020, four concerts (free of charge), 18 workshops and the “Good Evening!”- program (also free of charge) with talks and films - worldwide.
As with last year's successful edition, the BFV-Web.stival offers concerts, workshops and small formats such as “Kirchzarten sings!”, “Warm up”, “Young BFV” or sing-along formats in its “Good Evening!” Evening program. The unique atmosphere of last year's festival original can also be found online: The festival meadow at the gates of the Talvogtei will form the homepage of the Web.stival in a stylized form and offers additional information and surprises when clicked.
With its 18 workshops (“webinars”), the Web.stival opens via zoom from Friday to Sunday, usually 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for interested people and singers of all skill levels and ages. The lecturers and participants deal intensively with numerous aspects of ensemble singing and singing in general: "classical" choral topics are taken up as well as up-to-date knowledge, methods or questions. The topics range from choral vocal training, warm-ups, improvisation games, management, beatboxing to electronic media. Well-known musicians and educators from the international a-cappella-scene could be won as lecturers: Kevin Fox (The Swingles), Kim Nazarian (New York Voices), Peder Karlsson (formerly The Real Group), Claudia Burghardt ( Hanover Music University) and much more Registrations (€ 15 per workshop) and information on the lecturers and workshop topics can be found on the at the workshop page.
The “Good Evening!” program starts at 6 pm in the free livestream with talks, mini concerts, surveys, interviews, stories and presentations from Kirchzarten and the world. Among other things, Kirchzarten's mayor Andreas Hall, Martin Hegar and Thomas Messeser from Hotel Die Halde, Mario Hug from Weingut Hug, Josef and Johannes Ruf vom Beckesepp, Christian Nagel and MGV Zarten, Uli Führe, the Freiburger Schülerchor Voice Event and many more to be seen and heard! We look forward to contributions from the German Choir Youth, a view of the Aarhus Vocal Festival, warm ups with Peder Karlsson, Morten Kjaer, Gabriel Hahn and Kim Nazarian, a panel discussion of various online a-cappella festivals and much more.
The concert program starts in the free live stream at 8 p.m. In the Local Night on Thursday, the Dreisamtal artists Thomas Fuß, Uli Führe, Héctor Urbón, Theresa Dold and Wilde Wälder can be heard. The program goes international on Friday and Saturday evenings, with groups from Germany (jazz choir from the University of Bonn, Gabriel Hahn, anders, baff!), Sweden (Åkervinda, Solala), Canada (FreePlay Duo), England (The Beatbox Collective) and Finland ( Rajaton), each moderated live from London of Kevin Fox or Kirchzarten of Acoustic Instinct! On Saturday afternoon there will also be a children's concert with the Beatboxduo Acoustic Instinct at 3 p.m.
In memory of the festival founder, the festival will end on Sunday at 5 p.m. with "Celebration of Life in Memory of Tobias Hug".
